This is my first real attempt at using layers. I must say it really helped to have the parts separated to pierce through the paper. I think I'm going to like layers.

Very nicely done.

I'd like to see some lines indicative of smaller, unreadable text on the paper, below the heading.

For a first layer project this is quite neatly done.

Was the coloring done in a layer under the lineart, or was it painted in the same layer?

Do we have any rules about blasphemy, here?

the coloring is on the same layer because i just used the paint bucket to fill it in.

I used the most important rules i could think of so it might be blasphemous but it fit the theme and i didn't get hi tby lightning so i must have be forgiven already.

While there aren't any rules on blasphemy, things are expected to be in good taste.

Very nicely done for a first layer piece.

If you want to use the fill tool, but also want the color in a lower layer, you can use the magic wand selection tool to select the area from the layer with the lineart, and then move to the lower layer and use the fill in your selected area.

That's how I do it, anyway.

Paint.Net tends to leave transparent artifacts around the edges of pour filled areas, so using  the magic wand to pour fill in a lower layer is a good technique to have. You can touch up the edges of the color layer, without covering the contour lines, that way.

Mm..seems like the world today is like that. Nicely done, no less. :3

I don't know the first thing about layers...so I can't say anything about that. >.>

I have become successful. This picture has 23 layers and it only looks slightly less cool than the one i drew by hand. But i Like it.   8)
this is the original http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww78/DarknesVar/FiremanSketch.jpg

This character will be my crutch for theses themes as i don't need to give him a face.
I never did figure out how to draw those   :(

Hmm...

Impressive.  Though I'd've used a brighter/more intense red for the fireman.

Hm...
Well, it might not be so much bad, what he depicted.
It is supposed to represent  breaking laws... it's not saying that blasphemy is a good thing. After all, I think most of the people here have drawn things that aren't all exactly cheery. It doesn't make us psychotics who want to kill/torture someone, or something.   ;D    :P

Heh.
Nice, all the same.   ;)

Heh.

Flaming bed!

Anyway, yeah.  It's a more vibrant color, so yeah, I personally consider it to be a better color for a guy made of fire.  It isn't so bright that it hurts my eyes, though...which is probably good.
