The Best Trailers Need No Director

So, there's this game-play video of Mirror's Edge.

You can see it here: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36297.html

I got this link myself from today's Penny Arcade.  www.penny-arcade.com, for those of you living under a rock.

Watching something like this is bittersweet for a game developer type of person. On the one hand, this looks really awesome.

The trouble is I can't just be happy for the guys at EA because they get to work on something like this. Every time I think about this some part of me screams "--but I wanted to do that! They're hogging all the awesome!"

Then there's the fact that this piece of the future comes from the rigor bound corpse know as EA. You can't trust people like that with an idea like this; they'll just screw it up. This idea deserves better.

Heh...

I think I was one of those people living under a rock... >.<

Well, I'm afraid I have to stay under my rock for now. I don't have the time to look, right now...
later.
What's Mirror's Edge, though?

It's a game from EA I never heard of until I saw that video.

It promises to take gaming technology a step foward.

That usually means that it'll be terrible, but the things the industry learns from it's mistakes will make a lot of later games much better.

The video speaks for itself really, if you have the time to download it.
