Title: Plushies, plushies, plushies
Post by: Madjack on November 13, 2010, 02:59:57 PM
Okay. I haven't been on here, in forever, and feel I owe an explanation. Several, actually.

This (http://img602.imageshack.us/img602/5967/hermitcrab.png) is (http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/4020/koh2.png) what (http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/5295/nim.png) I've (http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/6026/ninjafox.png) been (http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/4149/octo.jpg) doing. (http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/7356/peppermintskag.png) Seems like every time I get one finished, I get another commission..hah. Not that I'm complaining. I love doing this. I just kinda...vanished from the internet, though. Sorry about that. D:

Candyskag is my favorite. I call him Peppermint.

Heh.  Nice.  Hadn't seen the ninja-fox before (that I can recall, at least...)

Awesome work.

Those are really cool. XD
I like the ninja fox and the hermit crab... ;D

How do you manage to make things fearsome and endearing at the same time?

Is thee some trick to it, or do you just have to have the knack?

Soooooooo much better than mine. which never even got made.... so i guess it's not that hard to beat. i reckon.

Heh. :)

I would love to make some, someday, but I don't have the time... >.>
:P

Maybe if I get a sewing machine... ;D
("If only, if only." And maybe then I'd get back onto learning how to play the guitar and work with my horse as much as I think I should... XP )

But yes - keep sharing! These are really great. ^-^

I honestly have no idea. XD I guess it's just a knack. I got commissioned for this fearsome skullbeast (http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/6269/malek.png), and it still managed to look somewhat cute, haha.

And I don't use a sewing machine. I have one, but I don't use it. It's nice for larger pieces of fabric, but not so much, for detail work.

The dark gods of the furthest ring (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=004748) are our slumberbuddies, now.

Heh.
Nice. :P

The skullbeastie is pretty cool... ;D

O.o
Last link is very strange... XD

Yeah.
But I don't think I'd have the time to make anything, without... >.>
I used to, when I was younger. But I didn't really care about school then... or the rest of the world, really. XP
As is, I barely have time to draw all of the things people are expecting me to draw... <.<
Ugh.
/me needs to invent a source of time... XD

But I really like to see all of your critters. :)

I made a corrosive skag (http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/579/corrosive.png). 8D

A lot of people are wanting skags, so I'm hoping to have a few, pre-made. I had no idea my little time-killer would turn out to be so dang popular, around the internet. Currently working on one, for the holidays...I call him Peppermint. And he holds candy. c:

Sweet. XD

I want to make slippers with the rice bag concept in mind.
Slippers padded with a rice bag in the bottom that you can microwave to warm your feet. XP

^That sounds like an awesome idea. Go for it!

I thought I posted Peppermint. (http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/6756/peppermint.png) Huh...guess not. WELL THERE HE IS. I really love shaggy minky, but it's so expensive...definitely worth it, though. He's so soft. <3
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies
Post by: Faith on December 03, 2010, 04:05:02 PM
Hahaha. :P
So I figure if you make a zippered thing in the bottom of a slipper, or something, you could make the rice thing removable and keep it clean, and clean the slipper without the rice bag in it. :P
/me will try it, someday...

Hahaha, I like the Peppermint skag. XD
...
Where is the candy? 8D XP

That's a great idea! ;D

I JUST bought some candy, today. XD I put a tube of M&M minis, in it. c:
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies
Post by: Faith on December 04, 2010, 03:11:42 AM
Hahahaha. XD
Feel free to try it for me. Then I might actually see it accomplished sometime soon... XP

*Yays!*
I like M&M's... XD
Where does the Peppermint critter keep the candy?
/me would find it terribly amusing if it were stored in the beastie's mouth... but you would have to get past the tongue... XD

Also... when I do that, the letters are blinding me... >.>
Didn't Dragyn fix that at one point, or were those different letters?
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies
Post by: Dragyn on December 04, 2010, 10:43:34 AM
Different letters.  I thought you were using the color tag, but I'm guessing by your comment you're actually using the emote tag, or something?

I'm not even sure how that works, on the forum.
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies
Post by: Faith on December 04, 2010, 12:50:29 PM
I was just using the / me.
And it decided to blind me. O.o

Ah.  I'll look into it.

EDIT:  Fixed.  Let me know if you'd prefer a color besides off-white.

Wait a minute.

Peppermint skag is a Christmas stocking.

Look at him. Red bag, with a prominent white ruff, stuffed with candy.

What kid wouldn't want to hang him up by the chimney Christmas eve, or reach down his festively colored gullet to discover an edible surprise.

We're talking about years of therapy here.

Hahahahha! XD

I don't know. It might keep younger siblings from stealing your candy.
"The Peppermint Guardian..."
/me would want one... XD

(By the way, maybe a less subtle light yellow. Looks too much like everything else. Just a bit darker would do, or maybe a shade of orange.)
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies
Post by: Dragyn on December 06, 2010, 10:20:54 AM
Actually, I think younger siblings would rather get into it, than older ones.  They don't tend to care as much.

(There   How's that?)
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies

Hahaha. Yeah, maybe. :P

Much better. :)

I present, to you:

TENTOMON, RIDER OF SKAGS! (http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/6494/tentomonskag.png)

Tentomon was a commission, and I felt like being silly. Maybe when I get home, I'll get a picture of the whole plushie family...

Okay, that got a smile out of me.

Hahahaha... XD

That's great. ;D

That would be very much a thing of awesome. :D
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies

A thing of awesome, indeed! (http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/1917/vacuum.png)

As a bonus, I stuck all my pointies, in there. Nimrod and Tesla are kinda hard to see, and my scimitar and black sword are hidin'...(though the black one's *by the two axes* reflection can be seen, at least)
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies

Ooh.

*drools*

*Envies you your pointies and your mad, plushie-making skills...*
O.o
I can't decide which shiny I want to steal, most... XD XP

And here just earlier today I was thinking that I was pretty happy with my ordinary pocket knife collection. :P

That's an awesome array of armaments you've got, there.
I think I need more pointies...

I, too, am jealous of your plushy-making skills.
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies
Post by: Madjack on January 20, 2011, 05:07:47 PM
My big, dragon one hasn't come in, yet. ;-; Yeah...haha, always adding more pointies, to the collection.

Ah, one of these days, I still need to try a Beastling plush. I don't have as much free time, as I used to..
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies
Post by: Dragyn on January 20, 2011, 09:16:29 PM
Yeah.  It probably doesn't help that I recommend your work to anyone who so much as thinks about commissioning a plushy.

Still, I'd love to see Beastling and Kheros plushies.  That would be awesome indeed.
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies
Post by: Felblood on January 20, 2011, 11:54:35 PM
--and rightfully so!

I still can't figure out how you can make things so cute, and still give them such character.

I is a torturous enigma.

EDIT:
It is also an enigma, but I am pretty sure nobody can figure me out.
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies
Post by: Faith on January 21, 2011, 03:36:57 AM
Hahahaha... XD XP

*Wants to see your dragon one when you get it...* XD

Hm...
I've still been meaning to try things like this, but I haven't really had the time, either. Though I don't think they'd come out at the same level of amazing as yours do. :P

Hahaha...
...
If you ever possibly do get the time, you should definitely consider making an Appa plushie, from Avatar: The Last Airbender series. ;D
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies
Post by: Madjack on January 27, 2011, 01:29:47 PM
There's a lot of Avatar plushies, I wanna do. Turtleducks seem to be the most requested..

Also, I have one more skag commission, then I'm freeeee.....to finish the Beastling, I started on, the other day. 8U

Hahaha... XD

The turtleducks are great. XD
That and the baby lionmoose-thing. :P

I want to see it, too! ^-^

Heh..I'm working on it, a little at a time. Right now he's just a legless body, and head. I tried working on it, while I had some head woozy....but quickly realized that plushies and pain meds don't quite blend well, together.

There goes the Vicodin Theory of Christmas Skag's origins.

Heh. XD XP

Well I'm really looking forward to seeing it. ^-^

Did you figure out how you're doing the hair?
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies

All he needs, are wings! (http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/8074/beastling.png) And the pendant, if I can find a chain.

Working on it, in between skag breaks. I think at this point, I have a skag of every available size, sitting on my desk..
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies
Post by: Dragyn on January 31, 2011, 05:18:26 PM
Hmm...I wouldn't think a chain would be that hard to find, but I could be mistaken, I suppose.

It's hard to tell in this picture, but do his belly plates go further up than his tail?  Maybe I'm just used to the way I draw them, but I don't see them anywhere but his tail.

Still, he already looks awesome.  Can't wait to see more!

Edit for minor note:  I am amused by Beastling's scale relative to the skags in the background...

Hehehe...
He's cuddly.
*hugs* ^-^

Haha. :P
Maybe they can be buddies? ;D

Tesla and Ickis both lost their spot. BEASTLING IS THE NEW RIDER OF SKAG. (http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/8074/beastling.png)

Yes, the belly plates do go up, further; and the reason I can't find a chain, is because I can't leave the house...haha. I'm sure I could get one, at any craft store. I might swing by there, tomorrow or Friday.

Ok, that?  Right there?

Awesome.

I am impressed and amused, all at once.

Side note:  I like how you did the wings.  It works really well, and the color choice is nearly perfect.

So you're saying it's a trick of perspective, then?

Hmm...
Title: Re: Plushies, plushies, plushies
Post by: Madjack on February 12, 2011, 01:30:56 PM
More like a trick of the camera. The pictures never look as good, as in person. I suppose I could take the time, to get a good quality photo..but the point & shoot camera is just so convenient...
