I'll get to those.

Innocence, huh? ....

Anyway, last night I filled in Cat. I like the paper sketched version better, because I actually cut one of the two characters out to save drawing time.

The other character mostly existed to look increasingly shocked and horrified, but I think it really added something, and make what was going on easier to understand.

You know....I've had dreams where I've done stuff like that. The worst part being, I could actually taste what was in my mouth. NOT. PLEASANT.

You seem to be just as fond of macabre humor as I am, though....>3<

Heh.

It did take a bit to figure out what was going on, but it was worth it.

That's the thing.

The other girl's horrified reactions made it easier to squeeze the joke into four pannels without making it hard to follow.

I suppose, I could go and put her back in. Digital art and all that...

Your call, ultimately, though you might try putting up both versions.

Innocence is ready.

CAUTION: Blood and disturbing themes.

Hmm....

I can see the blood, but beyond the fact that the craters seem to be full of...cheese?  Not much seems disturbing.

I'm guessing I've quite thoroughly misinterpreted something, here...

Looks more like sulfur. That wouldn't smell very nice, though....

Anywho. I really like this piece..certainly has a lot of emotion to it. :3

Wow. So nobody here considers the maiming or disfigurement of children disturbing?   :o

creepy.

They are bomb craters, full of muddy water. I should have put in more ripples, so you could tell. You can kind of make out that it's a carpet bombing trail, leading all the way to the horizon, but the perspective is warped, horizontally, so it just looks like a bunch of random holes.

The planet is supposed to feel kind of alien, without making it totally unrelatable. The sky had to have just a little blue in it. I didn't plan ahead enough with my layering scheme, and it limited how much I could bend the sky, for a proper dome effect.

Is the bloody sword not enough of a hint as to what happened to the kid?

Heh...
Yeah.
I figured that out... I was thinking "Ow..."
Heh.

Well, not so much creepy as... emotional, as Fox put it.
Heh.

I think it turned out well. It could've used a bit more shading and impressions of light, such as ripples... but that's possibly just me. Ya'll know how I get... ... ... XD
Hm...
I might add that, considering what happened, there might be more blood droplets and the like, between the kid and the sword. Considering that there had to be contact at some point.
But it turned out really well. The sky was really neat, dome or no. Heh.

It's possible to be disturbed without being frightened.

He didn't cut his own eyes out.

Shallow surgery like this doesn't produce a huge amount of bleeding.

If somebody held him, you wouldn't get much blood on the knife at all.

Really, you shouldn't be able to see blood on the knife at all (since the tip is buried), but it doesn't make sense to leave it behind, either. I just added it to ensure that everyone knew this wasn't an accident.

"Violence toward children" really doesn't need a disturbing themes label? I remember Pirates of the Caribbean 3 caught a lot of flack over gratuitously hanging a child in the opening scene.

Notice that the kid still has eyelids. This is not a mistake. Think about that for a while, and see if you find yourself feeling some sort of emotional disturbance.

This is actually a scene from a story I wrote a few years ago, but never did anything with. Some of the other pics will be related to the same fiction, if they ever get made.

Considering some of my own characters' backstories, I don't feel the need to say.."Golly, that disturbs me!" much, anymore.

Not to say I'm not disturbed at all....I just think about such things so often, I tend to just ignore them, most of the time.

Now that I know what happened, here...maybe the eyelids should be going inward, rather than outward? (I wouldn't know, though..I don't know of anybody that has empty eye sockets)

*Laugh!!!*   :D

Hm...
I was going to do something of a similar interpretation of that theme. Little different, but... anyway... so, if I were disturbed, well... heh... yeah.   :P
Not that I don't disturb myself once in a while... XP

Hm...
Are you going to share that story, any time? I have to say I'd like to read it. Heh.   :)
