Lots o' stuff to read..but I had this done & figured I'd better post it first since my attention span is at 2% at the moment.
My scanner hates me. Sorry about the blur/grittiness/part of the wing cut off/brightness. The original looks much better, honest. ^^;
-
Wonderful! :D
It's fun to see so many different styles of Beastling... :)
I've had fun with the scanner, too...
Have you seen the scary lady?
She's proof...
Anyways... I look forward to seeing more of your art. :)
More art in the Art board is always a good thing!
-
Nice! Excellent work!
I've tried to put 'im in that pose, and failed. Impressive work, indeed.
Uh, Faith, the bone structure looks the same to me...just not so overdrawn.
Let's see...critique...('cuz I have to, ya' know?)
This could be difficult. You even got his fur right, and his hair is adequately spiky. His wing rests on his hindquarters correctly, and his legs bend the right ways, even.
Though...I should point out that Beastling only has 3 toes on each paw, and the other is on the back, like a thumb. That's about all I can find to nitpick about...
As a side note, scanners are the reason I started doing all my coloring on the computer. Blasted thing keeps getting mold inside. I have NO idea how it does it, either.
EDIT: Mind if I crop out the whitespace and add it to the fan art section of the extras?
-
I know. The bone structure's the same, but differently drawn. I wonder what I said, that night... I should read it. I was rambling, I've no clue what I said. :)
So that's what I said...
Hm. I sounded insane. :P
What I was trying to say, was that I liked it.
And then I said something about styles of art that was supposed to be that I was noting differences in styles, which I never even had to say, really... in this one, there's not a lot of difference, true, but I was thinking funny and stuff, and I tend to say too much when I do that, which makes it sound totally over-done and weird. If I'd gotten on earlier, I would've changed a lot of what I'd said, but everyone's read it know.
Well, I said something that makes sense, and that was ignore me when I ramble. ': )
Sorry 'bout sounding dumb and stuff; do it a lot. Particularly when it's the last thing I say before going off... ;D
Mold? that's odd....
I thought that that was gonna' happen! :D
(Hoping Fox says yes. :) )
-
Thanks, and nah..I don't mind.
I prefer digital art, too, but sadly I don't have a tablet & it's kinda hard with a mouse for me. :/ More time-consuming, I mean. It's more a patience thing than difficulty. XD
Mold? Wow..I think I'll take the ants in my scanner over mold. XD (or the Milky Way for that matter....)
-
Ants? That's odd too....
I think my scanner's fine, now that I've gotten it taken care of after it hadn't worked for so long...
I think it turned out really well.
Still sorry about all the rambling...
I hate it when I say dumb stuff like that...
-
We're used to it Faith. You can always edit it out later, if you want...I ain't stopping ya'.
Expect that to show up in the Extras soon, then, Fox. Thanks.
-
I'll just double-post. I see this as important. :)
It's up, and I want you to look at it. Tell me if you want the words removed, or if you want me to change the wording in your credits. Looks good!
(I removed some of the yellow, for you. Hope you don't mind too much. I also changed it to a JPEG, so it would load faster)
Anything you want changed?
Also, Faith: Shall I add credits to the ones you sent? I can leave them, or add it. It's not too much trouble, either way.
-
Nah, it's fine. ^.^
Sorry about the .PNG bit. I have that as the default save on PhotoShop, so when I open something to finish or edit, it won't be so pixilated.
-
I sincerely wish I could draw.
-
Heh. :)
I don't care what you do with them. They're just my silly drawings. It was nice enough of you to put them on your site, I'm happy. :)
I'm sure you can draw. :)
And, if you try and keep trying, you'll get better
-
I suppose it's like singing... anyone can sing, but not everyone can sing well.
-
Anyone can sing well, they just have to keep at it.
@ Fox: alright, I'll leave it on there. Lemme' know if you change your mind about the words/wording. .PNG is fine, I use it the same way. I just prefer to change it before adding it.
@ Faith: I may add the text later, but not now. Now, I go to bed.
-
*Laugh!!!* :D
I should get to bed, soon, too...
Heh...
I'd have to have keeping at it.
What's PNG about, anyways?
-
It's just a way to save a file. I prefer PNG because it's better quality, and people can't save it(usually) on DeviantArt to use on their pointless music videos like they ALWAYS DO. I just forget to save scanned pictures as JPEG sometimes.
-
I'm afraid I have yet to understand these different file types...
What types are there, anyway? And what different things can they do?
-
It varies with the program, but the main ones are .jpeg, .png, .bmp, & .gif. .JPEG is a little less quality, depending on what you're doing. Something major it's probably best to use it, but simple, background-less things like I do I prefer .PNG. It's a lot smoother & less pixilated when I zoom in to fix or finish something. .Bmp is the default save in MSPaint, but is slow to load. .Gif is used for animations or transparent images, mostly.
I can't really think of any other way to explain them..I don't know anything about computers, I just use 'em. XD
-
They have a different encoding language. Mostly, just go with Fox's explanation, it'll be more helpful.
-
*Laugh!!!* :D
-
Awsome Job Fox. Absolutely astounding!
-
It should possibly be noted that for modern browsers, such as FireFox or Internet Explorer (the newest versions ONLY), .png also has some transparency. It's actually a higher quality of transparent, but not many older browsers support it. Generally, it's best to use .gif for transparency.
Other than that, .jpg (or .jpeg--same thing) is the smallest file size, while .bmp tends to be the biggest. The others vary based on number of colors, and variations thereof.
EDIT: as an aside, if you ever get a better scan of that image, fox, I can always re-modify and upload it. I seem to recall you saying part of it got cut off, or something...
EDIT OF EDIT: my aside is the first on-topic thing in this thread in awhile. Go figure.
-
Yeah. If I do though, I'd have to touch it up in Photoshop..which I prolly should have done in the first place, because my scanner makes things so bloody bright. XP
~And thanks. =3
-
Feel free to do as you like. It's your art, not mine.
Still, I'm willing.
-
*Laugh!!!* :D
Does villigeelder draw?
-
On occasion, if I'm not mistaken as to his identity.
Which I'm reasonably sure I'm not...
-
Vlligeelder should really check some other topics... :P
He doesn't even know that you know.
Maybe if you sent him a PM...
Or maybe I should do it, since I'm on, and I've got to reply to a message from him, anyway. :P
Wouldn't that be brilliant?
Did you know he made plushies, 'cuz I never even thought that...
-
Sorta, but not really. I've seen him make several things, but not plushies specifically.
-
I'm lost. =D
Well..since he's doing plushies..I guess I could always pester Dad to bring home some plastic bead thingys and I'll just make a beanie. =3 'Cause I found some wire....and I could prolly use patterns from various other plushies/beanies of mine.
Yeah...that was random.
-
But random is good.
Usually, anyway.
Beanies. though...what exactly would a Beastling Beanie entail?
-
*Laugh!!!* :D
I wonder, if I ask Villgeelder this, would he respond...
Well, whoever it is that reads it first and knows the answer, please please do respond. :)
Of what has Villageelder made plushies of, before?
What have you made beanies of, before, Fox?
-
Honestly..I've never made anything of the like before. I'm just good at following stuff, and I have plenty of plushies which patterns I can mix and match to make a Beastling. In fact....I might try to knock out at least one Ninja-Fox this week; my skunk plush isn't too far off from NF's shape..once that's done I might make a trek to Hobby Lobby to gather stuff for a Beastling.
Aw, darn. I was about to do a nifty Beastling/Ramjik/Thief groupshot, but now I have no references. XD
-
Why not?
I tried to make things of that like, before...
They were scary.
I was about 7, and my only material was this black and white striped stuff from an old shirt. :P
-
I'll see if I can't get you some references for that...it's iffy, at best, what I'll be able to manage.
-
I think it's fine, now. I posted that when the Beastling page was down. XP
-
And I had posted that while the site was down. We're even.
Glad I fixed it, though...well, inasmuch as I fixed it.
-
Heh. :D
Well, the site's up again, and that's the good news for that, I think.
Groupshot?
So you're drawing them?
If so, neat! ;D
Do share, if/when you finish, please. :)
-
I haven't even started yet. XP The only drawing I've done since last Sunday were on Oekaki, save for a couple of line arts and a little bit of coloring. >.< We're gonna see Beowulf tomorrow, then I might go to Nana's after..perhaps I'll doodle while over there. =3
-
Heh. :)
I think I want to try to draw Ramjik again, myself...
Also, I have that drawing of everyone on the forum figured out, on paper, but I don't have the thing necessary to load Paint.Net, anymore...
'Tis sad... I miss Paint.Net... :P
-
Go for it. You could always do it on paper, and I could scan/send it to you.
-
Aw... I guess you got one while I was afk. :(
Heh. ;D
I think I will, then. :)
It sounds like my family may not be doing anything for Thanksgiving, anyway, so I'll get on it tomorrow. ;)
