Title: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Dragyn on December 08, 2006, 02:27:00 AM
I offer this for your perusal:

See, not all of my characters have grey/white fur!

It's part of a different project I'm working on.  He has absolutely nothing to do with Beastling, just to clarify.

Neat!!!!   :D

:)  I wish I could draw like that... do you have a name for this character?

Yeah...he has a name.  This is Mhero (pronounced like "marrow")

And I'm glad his expression worked out...you can actually tell he's sad?  Yay!  I must be getting better!

Yeah he does look sad.   :(

I might suggest that you change the background color it blends into your guy.

I drew that one person that was sad, so I didn't comment, but yes, he does look sad. I would've asked why, but I didn't know why the person I drew was sad, so I didn't ask!   ;D

Oh wow,I havean incredible urge to draw something reeeeallly angsty now.Eheheh.

@ Gryphor:  I like the yellow.  It doesn't blend in so much, in my opinion.

@ Faith/Spookty:  I haven't a clue why he's sad at the moment.  He usually is, though, so that's how I drew him.

@ Spookty:  Draw away!  We haven't seen any of your work, yet...

Ahahahah-YET.Most of what I'll eventually post will be sketches n' stuff though because my pen is spectacularly crappy.*loves the spellcheck thingy*

Well...take your time.

--Anyway, all posts in this thread from here on out should probably have something to do with the picture, just for organization's sake.  Thank you.

So Mhero is a very depressed character? Is there a reason why he's so depressed, like his past? Or is his personality just simply one of the depressed sort? Do you just draw him that way, so your not really sure why, he's just usually sad?

He's part of another project I'm working on.  There are several reasons he almost always looks sad.

More on that some other time...like when I actually start it.

I'll wait!   ;D

And as a strange little note...Internet Explorer hates this new project.

Firefox works, though.
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Faith on January 06, 2007, 07:51:00 PM
Didn't you say it hated your new project because it made it look weird?

Also, I'm sure I've asked you this before, but I think I misunderstood, what exactly is firefox?
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Dragyn on January 07, 2007, 01:12:00 PM
Firefox is a web browser, like Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator.

And IE (Internet Explorer) hates my new project because it eats my tables and spits them out all wrong.

-AND anything here on needs to pertain to the picture.  We can discuss this in Off-topic or the like if you so desire.  Sorry.

Kay, I'm sorry.

Here's a question, do the marks on his arm have something to do with anything, or do they just look cool?
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Dragyn on January 10, 2007, 08:47:00 PM
No need to be sorry.  I have to have something to do, after all...

And all of his markings mean different things.
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Faith on January 11, 2007, 04:44:00 PM
Will I find out what they mean in your new project when it's done and do you prefer it that way, or can I ask now?
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Dragyn on January 12, 2007, 10:10:00 AM
Well, most of it will be explained slowly over the course of that project.

And some of it isn't set in stone yet, so it'd be better (for me, anyway) if you waited.  I'm not the best at getting everything set up.

That's okay, I can be patient sometimes!   :D

So can I...
...
...sometimes.

*Laugh!*   :D

Hysterical.   :)

I start most of my posts the same way....

Anyway, do you have any vague idea of when this project will be out in the open?

Is this on topic enough?
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Dragyn on January 14, 2007, 03:33:00 PM
eh...it's on topic enough for now.

And I have NO idea when I'll put it up for all the world to see...

...

Well, some of the world, anyway.

By "all of his markings" is the one over his eye included? Also, is there any reason why there's no color in his eye?
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Dragyn on January 15, 2007, 03:52:00 PM
There is no color because I didn't put any there.

Seriously, though;  yes, there's a reason behind that, and yes the eye markings were included.

Oh.   :D

Err, is my, analyzing, your art getting annoying?
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Dragyn on January 19, 2007, 08:52:00 AM
Nope!  I'm actually enjoying this.  That's sorta' why I put it here, anyway.
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Faith on January 19, 2007, 04:41:00 PM
All right then! Another question, what exactly is he? He's got a human body, but he's covered in fur, he's got hands, but there's only three fingers and claws, and he's got a wolf's features on his face, but human hair... it's an obvious mix, but I'm still not sure of what he is.

Oh, don't worry too much.

Oops, apparently I do that too much... sorry.   :-[

Title: Re: Yellow, not grey

Heh.  Not exactly.  To be honest, the only problem with answering that is that it might give stuff away to...certain people.

So I gave a really vague response of "Don't worry about it."
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey

Certain people? All right I'll wait and see!

Yeah, certain people who already know more about PE than anybody else.  You know, like people who have seen the first couple comics, and the site layout (http://beastling.xepher.net/PE) in all it's roughness.

Yeah, don't expect it to update often, but I want to know what you all have to say.  I'll make it it's own forum category in a bit.

EDIT:  Fixed the link.

Ah, yes.

Neat!

Post by: Faith on January 26, 2007, 05:23:00 AM
I really, really, don't know why I thought up this question, but does he have any immediate family members, or any known family at all?

And you thought I was out out of questions!!!   :D  Actually, considering you know me, you probably didn't.   ;D
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Dragyn on January 27, 2007, 02:54:00 PM
I was actually pretty sure you'd have more.

His family is...different.  More on that in PE, though.
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Faith on January 30, 2007, 11:02:00 AM
Yeah, I ask a lot of questions.   ;D

Anyways, is there any reason why he's colored the way he's colored? Does it just look cool, or does it have to do with anything in particular?    :)

...

I ask some pretty strange, off - the - wall, questions, don't I?   ::)    :P
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Dragyn on January 30, 2007, 09:05:00 PM
Again, he's colored that way because those were the colors of pencils I have...

Actually, he's colored that way for various reasons.  (I will admit that the color of pencils I have is a factor...)  Though, I'm still working out a lot of these characters backgrounds.  I have most of it roughed out, but there's a few little things that need to be figured out.

Wow...that's a lot of words, and none of them answered your question...
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey

*Laugh*   :D

Is Mhero a main character, or one of the ones you don't see or hear from very often?
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Dragyn on February 01, 2007, 07:31:00 PM
Well...he's as much a mainstream as any of the others...

Which doesn't mean much.  While all the characters are connected, there are an awful lot of them involved.
Title: Re: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Faith on February 02, 2007, 01:11:00 AM
So, there's no a main character/s? What?

I think I need to think harder -- or maybe get more sleep (both would probably help.)   :)

I've said enough on that, for now.

Gotta' be careful, ya' know.  I can't just give spoilers all over.

*Laugh!*   :D

I ask those kinds of questions to much!

Hey, do you think you could try to teach me how to draw like that? I know it's kinda strange trying to teach somebody how to draw, (I actually personaly think that drawing is something people can learn, but somehow not really be taught -- but somebody can be helped to learn how (a strange theory of mine, and I say that because a lot of people learn by themselves, and a few people just never can figure it out, despite any art lessons.)

I understand entirely if you don't want to, from what I've heard you've been really busy lately and it doesn't sound like that's changing any time soon. Just a question -- just wondering.   :)

Title: Re: Yellow, not grey
Post by: Dragyn on February 03, 2007, 09:28:00 AM
That will probably change in March, really.  That's when Robotics ends.

I...don't think I could actually teach you to draw in my style, since style is a personal thing that sort of develops over time.  Sheesh...my art looks nothing like the guy who taught me to draw.  Sure, there are similarities, but each of us does the same thing in different ways.

Personally, I think your art is fine.  If you want to, practice drawing some of my characters.  If you try enough, you'll be able to emulate my work, but in your style, not mine.

But...that's just the way I see it.

Kay, I'll try it.   :)  Show you how it turns out --- warning: there may be a lot of laughing involved at least the first few - or many - times.   :D

Hey...you never see the work I mess up on, or there'd be a LOT of laughing.

I look forward to seeing it.

MODERATOR VOICE:  Any more posts here need to have something to do with the Yellow-Furred Being shown in the initial thread post, or with the art itself.

*Laugh!!!*   :D

Oh yah? You should see some of the disasters I've made!!!   :P

Well, anyways; just be warned.   :D

I think I'll -try- to draw Mhero first.   ;)

I tried:
I'm not really sure what to think... I had to look up at the screen almost as often as I had to look at the paper when I was drawing him.   ::)  Also, the pen I used smeared when I colored him.   :P  I'll let you decide whether it's good or not when you see it, kay?   ;)
