So this will be the equivalent of an art landfill. :P
I just have been drawing random stuff during class and such, lately, and figured I'd start putting them in here, because I've not been sharing anything else, lately... :P
Anyway.
Here's one little doodle from today...
It's a rather rough, untidy and undetailed sketch of some sort of scrawny flying critter. (http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p292/Faith39_2006/Random%20Makes/ScrawnyFlyingCritter.png)
Comment if you have anything to say. :)

Impressive work on the wings!
Whatever degree of structure keeps you producing art is fine, but don't confuse "disorganized heap" with "landfill."
Our garbage is sorted before it get's buried. 8)
-
Heh. The membrane is rather see-through...
I usually put the bones down and then erase the stuff that gets covered. However, I kinda liked the the way it looked. So I kept it. :P
Hahah...
I'll have to remember that. :P
-
Mwahaha...
Felmo. :P
-
THE HORROR IS UNSPEAKABLE.
-
MAKE IT STOP! :'(
EDIT:
Resized to 100x100 I could use this as an avatar in my BVS village forum. I need a new one, anyway.
Is that okay?
-
Heh. ;D
If you want to horrify a few people or just find it generally amusing, sure. XD :P
But I made a few changes on the one, below...
Choose whichever one you like most or make changes/combine the two as it pleases you, I don't really care.
;)
Thanks for asking, though. :)
-
Thank you kindly.
I got people to horrify.
-
Heh. XD
Let me know how it goes. :P
-
Probably not well.
Traffic is way down over there anyway, and my last avi was way more terrifying
It's a tough act to follow.
-
Oh? :P
Now I'm curious... XD
But hey, at least mine has a terrifying theme song. :P
-
Felmo...that made my day. Also, love the bat-creature! The wings are so pretty. <3
-
Okay, on this next one...
I originally drew it with the tawny colors, underneath the gray.
But then I looked at it, without, and really liked the plain gray.
So I'm putting both here. :P
Wolf one. (http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p292/Faith39_2006/Random%20Makes/Wolf1.jpg)
Wolf two. (http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p292/Faith39_2006/Random%20Makes/Wolf2.jpg)
-
I personally prefer the plain grey, though both are awesome.
-
I like Wolf One better, because his colors aren't so much part of the background, and his fill seem more smooth.
-
Heh.
I thought Wolf One was more complete-looking, a bit more natural.
I really like the gray and white color scheme, though... XD
So I shared both. :P
Though Wolf Two makes a better avatar, I think. Because...:
1. Well, yeah... I like the color scheme. XD
2. The smooth/complete look of Wolf One would probably become an indistinct blob on the avatar scale. :P
-
Either one could use a contrasting background, to pop him out.
-
I thought about that too...
But at the time I was sorta' tired and didn't want to do anymore... :P
Perhaps I should come back to that, though...
-
Well, here's (http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p292/Faith39_2006/Random%20Makes/WingedPeta-Pam.jpg) another random blip.
The word "disproportionate" comes to mind while looking at this piece... >.<
But ah well.
The first time I've used erasable color pencils!
Rating: NEUTRAL
Hey, cool idea.
And sure they mostly erase (a bit better than erasable ink pens).
But, like erasable ink pens, the quality of performance is lacking, a bit.
Not too terrible, though.
Will use them again. :)
-
Oh, wow. I love this. 8D I'm especially fond on the outfit design.
-
Heh.
Really?
That's neat. ^-^
Use it for yourself, if you want. =J
Oh, here's (http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p292/Faith39_2006/Random%20Makes/TuxDress.jpg) another thing I forgot to post... XD
(Why am I drawing random chicks latley...? O.o )
Well, honestly, this was actually something that I made just to draw the attire. It's pretty much a sketchy thing of Sharpie. But it was fun. XD
Note: silver sharpie doesn't turn out well in a scanning... XP
But yeah.
Tux dress... why not? XD
-
You should totally design supervillain costumes, Faith. That tux-dress there would make a good baseline...
Now you just need to get a little more over the top, and BAM, supervillain(ess).
...And then you should put them in a comic.
Seriously.
-
Hahaha.
I fear I'm not really funny enough to run a comic... :P
But who knows. Someday, maybe I'll try it. :)
Happy Thanksgiving, all!!! (http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p292/Faith39_2006/Random%20Makes/HappyThanksgiving.jpg)
-
If that kitty eats all that turkey, it'll explode.
-
Hehehe. But it looks awfully happy with all of that turkey... XD :P
I really liked this method of inking it.
I just drew my pencil sketch, inked it (with a cheap blue ink pen) scanned it in, made it black and white, upped contrast/darkness and put a blur on it to make it look a bit softer.
Came out with some of my favorite qualities for both drawn lines and digital lines...
A bit sketchier than digital lines, maybe, but I like it anyway and I think that might be fixable with a higher quality pen.
Also...
It was super quick. It was like doing a whole step, the longest step, in fast-forward... XD
I'll be trying that again. :)
-
Really cool stuff, Faith! I like the wolf and the kitty the most. :)
-
Hahaha.
Thanks, Vir. :)
Hm... should wander out that way again, sometime soon... >.>
-
If that kitty eats all that turkey, it'll explode.
--and that would be awesome.
-
O.o
I thought you liked cats... XD XP
-
I just believe that more things should explode.
-
*Snrk!*
Hahaha... yeah... just remind me never to trust you near my cats... XP
-
I'm sure your cats have nothing to fear from Blood, over there. They have a built in anti-Blood defense mechanism: Shedding.
-
Exploding a cat would release a cloud of cat hair, to which I am violently allergic, so you won't catch me exploding any cats at close proximity.
In fact, the best way to protect your cat is to make sure that I can never reach minimum safe distance from it.
-
I think Blood just gave you permission to build a cat-launcher, and use it on him...
-
That isn't what I said at all!
-
..... Okay. This conversation made me laugh.
YOU GUYS ARE SIRRY.
-
Hahaha... XD
That's great. :P
Okay. Remind me to do that, Blood... ;D
-
I think I am more productive when I don't have any expectations to fill... ... ...
>.>
:P
Anyway.
I was told I could better my grade in Creative Writing by making some doodles and accompanying them with random blahs.
So...
Guess what I'm doing! XD
At any rate, I have a drawing I finished, for that, and I guess I will share it here... :P
It's sorta' weird.
And super sketchy/scribbley.
Part of that is the style, I guess. Other parts were me trying to get it done quickly and letting the sketchy-scribbles get the better of me...
<.<
But all the same.
Here ya' go. (http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p292/Faith39_2006/Random%20Makes/Sketchythingofink.jpg) :P
-
I envy your ability to draw hands. Seriously. SO PRETTY.
-
--and thus were all the accomplishments of my life rendered moot in light of this work. :'(
Well done. 8)
-
Heh... hands are hard...
:P
That one, for example, looks almost sort of manly. XP
Ah, well. I guess it's more like my hands, actually... ::)
Aw... that's not true, Blood. You do some pretty cool stuff that I fear isn't really in my book of things that I can do... like your understanding of mechanical things, some armor types, and some other concepts... I don't really feel comfortable with trying to portray those subjects, because I don't know enough about them. (Been meaning to look it up, or something, but... :P ) '=J
Heh. But thanks.
Both of you... '=)
It was all a grand experiment, really... XP
And the hair was probably the best part, as far as fun and interesting things to do. :D
Of course, I'm gonna' not like everything about it. Like the bulging arm/elbow, funny legs, so on and et cetera... :P
But... that's sorta' normal, for me.
I think it was okay for an experiment with ink... and I do believe it will fetch some extra credit. ;D
(Biggest goal to be met? I think so.)
-
It's ink!?
I though the color balance had been adjusted in post.
*Is obliterated*
Seriously, I think it's good that we are all our own worst critics, but some perspective is good, too.
-
Seriously, that's pretty awesome. I can't draw anything even partially realistic, so this sort of thing always impresses me.
-
Heh... :P
Sometimes I change things a little, so pencil looks like pen, but... meh.
Now I need to get working on something else... >.>
-
Oi, it's been a while... *dusting off old thread*
Well, I've not really got a lot to show for myself. :P
But I have actually started using the Deviantart account I made for myself about a year or something ago. XD XP
Which is cool, I guess. Only I forgot to post the things in there that aren't from high school that I have already posted on there. XP
At either rate, I'm taking full advantage of this account as a means of ditching the awful and terrible photobucket.
It eated so many pictures! D:
So yeah. Here's... the only two things on there that count as recent and almost moderately tolerable, quality-wise. XP
My first sketch dump (http://fayth39.deviantart.com/art/First-Sketch-Dump-XD-270486057?q=gallery%3Afayth39%2F14030184&qo=1) and a weird... dragon-beast lady... (http://fayth39.deviantart.com/art/Dragon-Beast-Lady-274333630?q=gallery%3Afayth39%2F14030184&qo=0) thing. As I said somewhere in the comments of the dragon thing, anatomical errors run rampant, there. But it was mostly for the concept, anyway.
-
how do you get your colors to pop like that?
-
On that dragon chick?
You mean before or after I uploaded it?
It looks pretty close to like it does in person, there. Just not as smoothly/flowingly put together.
It's a real pain to get anything done on paper, in general, to show up correctly on the computer on account of the cruddy scanner at my disposal. :P
I thought I'd explained it in the picture description, but I guess I forgot. XD
I scanned in the original, and it wasn't pretty. It was all grainy and the shading and colors where very sad and pitiful. It annoys me so much when it does that, 'cuz I spend all this time trying to make good quality lines, colors, blending and shading... and then the scanner eats it ALL and spits it back out. O.o
So I put a very slight Gaussian blur on all of it in Paint.NET, and that deals with most of the graininess.
Then I made a duplicate layer and turned it off for a while as I upped the saturation on the bottom layer to make the colors look right. Do that with any colors to make them pop, no matter how dull they might've been in the first place. :P
Careful, though. Doing that too much make the colors choppy. It did that a little to mine, but I was just trying to make it look like the original, so it wasn't too bad.
Then I made the top layer visible and made it black and white, set it's mode to multiply and made it slightly more transparent to restore most of my shading.
Is that what you wanted to know?
-
Brilliant.
You came to us as the student, but now you are the teacher.
-
Well shucks... heh. ^-^
It's nice of you to say that, but I think I still can learn a lot from you guys, and it's made a real difference having a good, friendly bunch to get a little bit of feedback and positive critiquing from. :)
-
Oh, hey...
Horse. (http://fayth39.deviantart.com/#/d4kgr2u)
Yeah. It's very fuzzy. I have a hard time with that, when it comes to digital art. :P
