Title: Art Topics
Post by: Faith on October 05, 2007, 03:59:00 PM
And here is where we will think up crazy ideas and see if anyone will actually draw what we thought up.
We can look for anything on the Internet, say something we think would be fun to draw, suggest a song for a topic, or anything else.
Try to put a link on here so that people can see it, if they might not know what it is. Like, if it's a song, a movie, a comic or whatever. You don't have to, 'cuz people can look things up themselves, but it'd be nice of ya'll.

Just as long as it's appropriate, go for it.

Now, let us see what crazy things come of this...

Double-posting bad..*shames self*

*Laugh!!!*   :D

"My leaf-gathering fiend..."   ;D

Well, sometimes double-posting can help keep things clean, or neat, or something.   :)

Of course we'll forgive you for double-posting!

Leaf-gathering fiend...that's just awesome.

Since I've nothing to use as a baseline, I think I can get away with skipping the critique.

Heh...   :D

You're not gonna' go that with mine, are you!?! (I prefer critiqing.   ;D )
Don't if ya' don't wanna'.   :)
I'm working on what I was going to do...
I'm also considering whether or not I should even try coloring it... last time I tried that ithe scanner killed it. (Red dragons becoming pink is somewhat frightening... ya' know? Meh, things turned out well, anyway.)

I wonder what the people I know will do when I start calling them leaf-gathering fiends...

Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Fox on October 09, 2007, 10:41:00 AM
XDD If anybody around here actually raked I'd probably call them that, too. =P

Scanners are hate sometimes. Though I find with mine it's better to tear a page out then scan it..if that doesn't work it's off to PhotoShop if I feel like it. XP

Heh.   :D

Photoshop... I haven't actually seen that's looks like.
What's Photoshop like?
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Fox on October 09, 2007, 03:13:00 PM
It's really an advanced art program..though I have yet to figure everything out, yet alone have the patience for something amazing. I just like using it for elaborate shading, glow, eye & hair/fur effects. If I'm doing something simple I may just stick to MSPaint. XD
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Faith on October 09, 2007, 03:43:00 PM
MSPaint?
Never heard of the MS bit.
I have windows.

I want Paint. Net back... but it's on the laptop...
I don't have a mouse that'll work for that, but I still had a pretty good picture on it! And I can't use the laptop, anymore....
And Paint. Net doesn't work very well on my currently accessible computer....
(It hates it.)
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Fox on October 09, 2007, 05:01:00 PM
MSPaint comes on every comuter. X3 (other than Mac, I'm sure)
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Faith on October 09, 2007, 05:19:00 PM
Really?
Then I haven't found it, or something...
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Fox on October 10, 2007, 07:33:00 AM
Mm-hm. I did that picture in Paint, too. X3 If it's not on your desktop, you can find it in Start > All Programs > Accessories and if it's not in there it would be in Entertainment. (in Accessories) I don't remember..I moved it to my desktop a while back. XD

Faith, Paint is MSPaint.  the MS is for MicroSoft, but most people leave it off.  You used MSPaint to make that eye, you just haven't realized it, yet...

Also, Photoshop and Paint.net are pretty near identical, to the point that people keep accusing them of stealing code from each other.
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Faith on October 12, 2007, 09:58:00 PM
Oh. Heh...   :D
Thanks for letting me know that.   :)

Hm...
That's interesting.
So, they've become more alike over time, or?...
Which one came out first?

What's the MS stand for?
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Dragyn on October 14, 2007, 05:36:00 PM
Uh...see my last post.  I already said what MS means...

Paint.net and Photoshop have been similar since the first time they both existed.  Photoshop came first, so most tend to accuse Paint.net of copying it.
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Faith on October 14, 2007, 10:07:00 PM
Oops, sorry... must've been dropped from thought.

I see. That's a odd bit of information...
Now, and not for the first time, I will wonder how you've figured that out.
Are Paint.net and Photoshop very recent things?
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Dragyn on October 15, 2007, 09:48:00 AM
Paint.net is fairly recent.  Photoshop keeps getting updated, but it's been around for awhile, otherwise.
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Faith on October 15, 2007, 05:10:00 PM
I see...

Well, I guess I should just be happy to have free access to one (once I get it figured out.)
Is Photoshop free, too?
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Dragyn on October 16, 2007, 06:38:00 AM
Photoshop is several hundred dollars, actually.  Not what I'd call free...
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Faith on October 16, 2007, 08:02:00 PM
Yikes!!!
Why would someone even use Photosop if they have access to Paint.Net? Is one different in some almost unotable, important way?

No matter, that probably doesn't help Paint.Net's case...

Why is one so expensive and the other free?
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Dragyn on October 17, 2007, 09:10:00 AM
Photoshop is "professional."

Paint.net is "freeware."  Some people fear freeware, I don't know why.
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Fox on October 17, 2007, 10:28:00 AM
Because it sometimes comes with Spyware. I've paid the price for freeware like that. :/

Dad got PhotoShop 7 for free, actually. Not sure how, though.
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Faith on October 17, 2007, 05:40:00 PM
Huh... the dog is eating burs...

Can't you look it over before you use it, or something?
What is Spyware?
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Fox on October 17, 2007, 05:45:00 PM
Spyware is computer software that is installed surreptitiously on a personal computer to intercept or take partial control over the user's interaction with the computer, without the user's informed consent
~According to Wikipedia.

I couldn't think of a good way to explain it. XD
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Faith on October 17, 2007, 05:52:00 PM
*Laugh!!!*   :D

How does it do that, and why would somebody want to?
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Fox on October 17, 2007, 05:53:00 PM
1: I have no bloody idea. XD
2: Because they're, like, 40 & still live with their mother..and have nothing better to do.
Title: Re: Art Topics

Or, because they want to make money, and think that if they watch what you do, they can figure out what to advertise.

It tends to copy files and things off your computer and send it to them, especially your internet "history" and "bookmarks" and suchlike.

Bloody awful stuff.  I hate it.

I'll just double post here:

We'll add 3 stupid points to your total, Faith.  I can add to the total shown below your "stars" in your info box.  (Left of your posts).

Once Arc is back, Well set his to 6 (or more), I think.  I'll probably give him bonus Karma, too.  (Yes, I can do that)

I think I get 5 for deleting him in the first place...

Sorry, Arc.   I do things like this on occasion.
Title: Re: Art Topics

I'll likely get stupid points for saying this...but..what are stupid points, exactly? XD
Title: Re: Art Topics

*Laugh!!!*   :D

(I'm guessing that that info bit is another something only Mods can see.)

They're fun!   ;D
If you want a better explanation, check "What Games, if any, a You Playing?" or whatever it was called.
(Something similar to that.)

Mainly, it's a kind of game we're playing.
We do dumb things (on the forum, or something from elsewhere, that we shared with the forum) and get "rewards" from the readers!   :D

Doesn't that sound like fun!?!   :P
(It is to me!   ;D  )

Join in, if you want any points!   ;)

(Would you say I described that right,?)

Good work, Faith.  You actually explained something!
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Faith on October 23, 2007, 07:02:00 PM
*Laugh!!!*   :D !   :D !   :D !

*Bows.*

It's a rare thing that any situation of one explaining to another that I'm participating in doesn't have me as the listener/questioner, isn't it?   :P

Aw... my little cousin just learned how to say "thank you...   ;D
She's a little over a year old, now.
In her language, "Woof-woof" means "Doggie.'"
She knows tons of signs, though. It's cute to see her waving her hands around whenever she hears music...   :)

Who doesn't love little kids?
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: arcblade on October 25, 2007, 08:39:00 AM
Well, they don't like me.  I can't say I'm very fond of them.
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Dragyn on October 25, 2007, 09:27:00 AM
Aw, but little kids can do such cute things...

...or drive you utterly mad.

I'm undecided on my opinion on miniscule humanoids.
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Faith on October 26, 2007, 06:59:00 AM
*Laugh!!!*   :D

I like little kids.   ;D
But I don't get to be around them as much as I would like...

Why would you think they don't like you?
If they don't know you very well, then that's different, I think.

That's a good term for little kids...   ;D
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Fox on October 26, 2007, 07:25:00 AM
I don't love little kids. I try to avoid them whenever possible.

They're messy, ask to much of me, touch things they shouldn't; and did I mention messy?
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Faith on October 29, 2007, 03:46:00 PM
Aw... but they're so cute and funny!   :D

But then, I tend to get along with them when I get to know them...   ;D
It's part of the reason I like babysitting.   :)
I get to have fun with little kids, and get paid for it!
The last time I was able to babysit, I had a ton of fun!
(It was a while back, though... a bit before school started.)
We watched a movie, went swimming, apple picking, bobbing for apples, and I made sloppy jo's with some other stuff, and then the kids crashed out on the couch.
It was sad when I had to leave though... the little girl woke up, all sleepy and sad 'cuz she always wants me to stay.   :)

Also, they can be very well behaved.
The little boy was extremely polite, and so sweet.
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Dragyn on October 31, 2007, 09:35:00 AM
Was this the one who was so polite...after he got done pinching?
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Faith on November 02, 2007, 09:44:00 AM
*Laugh!!!*   :D
Maybe...   ;D

Well, after he was done with that, he was very nice... ':D
I just had to send him to his room a couple of times...

He was though!
I turned off the T.V. to eat, and, even though they weren't used to that, he complimented me for it. And they kept on saying I was the best babysitter, even though I'm sure that they were very mistaken, and probably say that to every babysitter...

I'm not proving my point any, am I?
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Dragyn on November 06, 2007, 10:33:00 AM
nope.
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Faith on November 06, 2007, 06:49:00 PM
*Laugh!!!*   :D

Well, fine then, don't belive me.   ::)
We had fun though...   ;D

But then, I've yet to meet a kid that's too annoying... to me, that is.
Is that really strange?
Title: Re: Art Topics

Not really.
Title: Re: Art Topics
Post by: Faith on November 08, 2007, 09:02:00 AM
I bet most people here, have, though...
Maybe it's that thing I was talking about.
I'm more like them, so they don't bother me.   ;D
