You know what's awesome?
Canabalt (http://www.kongregate.com/games/AdamAtomic/canabalt).
As a game designer, this game opened my eyes to some things I hadn't realized before, and I consider myself a fairly astute dissector of games. Remove something that you take for granted, and you create room for innumerable possibilities.
It's also a lot of fun, and pretty to look at.
