Title: Role playing?
Post by: Fox on December 07, 2007, 09:27:00 AM: Chance of an RP board/thread anytime? I think it'd be fun here. =3 Though, I doubt everybody here would be interested in the same subject for the most part....but it'd still be fun to start.

Post by: Dragyn on December 07, 2007, 12:56:00 PM: Basically, it's a game, where you make your characters, then you say what you want them to do, and the guy running it (generally called a GM, or a DM, among others) tells you how it works out.

There's other ways to do it, but that seems to be the most common method.

Post by: Fox on December 08, 2007, 08:32:00 AM: I dunno about those kind....I generally play the ones where nobody is really "running" it. There's a basic plot given, and everybody just does their thing, keeping to the plotline.

~And yeah, they're fun. You never really know what's gonna happen next, and, depending on the characters, it can get downright humorous at times.

"Background" refers to your character's history. His past, so to speak.
