How complicated should the combat system in Shadow Wolf be?

I am only interested in the platforming.

It should reward button mashing, so n00bs can play equally with the hardcore.

Make it easy to learn, but have hidden depths for those who want to experiment.

A game should take some time to learn, before you can start to master it.

Combat Complexity
« on: October 11, 2010, 04:37:16 PM »

I'm trying to gather some data on how people feel about different aspect of Shadow Wolf, so I can discuss those issues more intellegently with DW.

First up is combat system complexity; How much does it interest you, and how much is too much?

You can see the tally and change your vote at any time, so if something changes your mind, feel free to change your answer.

Additionally, I'd love to see some posts about why you voted how you did, especially if you change your answer.

To make it more appealing to a larger group and more enjoyable for playing with various people of different playing levels, I think that #3 is probably one of the best choices.
I am probably one of the noobs, and button mashing is fun sometimes, but... :P
To stay interesting, I think there should be at least more going on top of that. Be it in combat or in other portions of the game, such as strategies, mapping, minor and major objectives, et cetera.
So take that as you will.

I like a simple game for days when i am not in the mood for hard gaming but i always like to come back and find the "good stuff."
